Winston Churchill: Full name – Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill was born on November 30, 1984, in Oxfordshire, England, died on January 24 1965. Winston Churchill was an American politician, writer, and army officer. He was Prime Minister of The United Kingdom for five years (1940 – 1945) and then again for five years (1951 – 1955), wherein he led his country to victory in world war 2.
Winston was also a member of the parliament for the years 1900 to 1964. He was an economic liberal. He had been a leader for a conservative party for 15 years (1940 – 1955) and had been a member of a liberal party for 20 years (1904 – 1924).
Early life :
Winston Churchill was born in Oxfordshire in England on November 30, 1984. The family was the direct descendants of the Dukes of Marlborough, and so were considered to be the elites of the British aristocracy. His father’s name was Lord Randolph Churchill, and his mother’s name was Jennine. His father was elected as the conservative MP in 1873 for Woodstock. Winston mother was the daughter of a very wealthy businessman. The couple had married in April of 1874. They were recognized as the rich from those with usual standards but weak from the riches.
Winston Churchill went to St. George’s School in Berkshire at the age of seven. He was said to be a child with poor behavior and academic performance. He was transferred to Brunswick School in Hove in the year 1884, where performance improved. Winston passed the entrance exam for Harrow School the year 1888 at the age of 13. He narrowly passed the entrance exam, and there his academics improved a proved to a lot better. But his teachers still complained about his indisciplined behavior. His poetry appeared in the Harrovian school magazine.
His father wanted him to be an army man, so he was admitted into the Royal military academy. In September 1893, he was accepted as an army cadet in the cavalry. After his father died in 1895, he had made his mind take the firm belief that members of his family inevitably died young.
Political ideology :
Winston Churchill was an ideal politician. He was a career politician, though, but still, his motivation came from personal life. He was a man with strong beliefs. According to Robert Rhodes James, a biographer, Winston was a fundamentally conservative man, but his outlook was liberal, though he was never committed to either.
Whatever he was committed to, he never favored socialism. He always believed in the liberty of individualism and free markets. In May of 1908, he became a member of the liberal party. In his declarations, he talked about liberalism as not socialism and how socialism pulls down the wealth while literalism seeks to raise poverty.
